DRP minor hurlers 14052022

Congrats to our minor hurlers who were part of the Sligo team who beat Meath in last Saturday’s Celtic Challenge All-Ireland Micheal Feery Cup semi-final at Markievicz Park.  The players involved are Michael Carroll, Shane McDonagh, Donnchadh O’Brien, Matthew Percy, Diarmaid Dunleavy and Daniel McTiernan.  Declan O’Brien also a member of the Sligo management team. We wish them the very best of luck in the All-Ireland final.

Well done to Rían O’Callaghan, Joe Campbell and Donnchadh O’Brien who were part of the Sligo minor football team who beat Leitrim in the Connacht Championship last Friday. The minors will qualify for the semi-final if they avoid defeat against Roscommon this Friday evening at Dr Hyde Park.

Commiserations to Anna Currid and the Sligo LGFA under-16 footballers who lost their Connacht ‘A’ championship final last Saturday. It was nonetheless a terrific championship run by the team this year and Anna flew the DRP flag proudly with that team. Well done all

Our girls under-16 footballers (pictured) enjoyed a 7-10 to 2-4 victory on Tuesday night against Ballisodare in the league. It was a great team effort with several players getting on the scoresheet.

Both our girls under-12 teams performed with distinction last week in their respective play-off games. Our 2010 team were beaten by Curry in a free-kick competition at the end of highly entertaining game in south Sligo.  Our 2011 under-12 team who battled courageously against CT Gaels (both teams pictured below) in their league quarter-final in Cloonacool on Wednesday evening. Despite a fine start, our opponents ran out deserved winners in the end. The under-12 league finals will take place on Saturday, June 4th.

Our senior men’s footballers beat Coolera/Strandhill on Sunday in the senior spring league by 4-8 to 1-11. Next up: the team resume their Furey’s Coaches Division 2 league campaign this Saturday evening with a trip to Easkey (7pm).

The junior men’s team play the same opposition (Coolera) this Friday evening in Division 4A of the Furey’s Coaches league at Ransboro. Throw-in: 8pm.
Our women’s intermediate and junior football teams continue their Connacht Gold league campaigns this Sunday morning against St Mary’s at Kent Park. The Division 1 game is at 10am. The Division 4 match throws in at 11:30am.

Our boys under-13 footballers (2009 team) had a fine win against Bunninadden in the league last Wednesday evening. Good luck to all players from this team involved in the Cumann na mbunscol games this week.

Our under-15 hurlers play Tourlestrane in the league this Sunday evening in Oxfield at 5pm.
Our boys under-9 All-Star players (2013 & 2014) will have a fun blitz with Eastern Harps this Wednesday evening (May 18th) in Keash. Match details will be communicated to parents by the coaches.
