Hard luck to the Sligo women’s gaelic footballers on their Division 3  loss to Clare on Sunday There are four DRP players on the LGFA county panel for the league this season: Sinead Regan, Caoimhe Connor, Maeve Casserly and Isabella Henry. Sligo are away to Down this coming Sunday.

Good luck to Cian Lally, Eoghan Smith and the Sligo men’s footballers who begin their Division 4 campaign this Sunday against Laois at Markievicz Park. Eoghan was also part of the DCU Sigerson Cup squad who have made it two wins out of two in the third-level competition so far, and are seen as one of the competion’s strong contenders for honours this year.

Two DRP players Ross Chambers and Hugh Keaney are part of the ATU Sligo Freshers football team who made a winning start to the All-Ireland Freshers Championship last week with a win over Galway in the Air Dome.

We wish to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Tommy Oates and Barry O’Sullivan who are stepping down from their management roles with our adult women’s football teams for 2023. Both men have put in huge work with the club in recent years, culminating in a junior A championship title and Connacht club final appearance last season. Thank you gents for all your time, energy and commitment.

Well done to the DRP contingent on the Summerhill College senior football team who have helped the college reached the knockout stages of the Connacht senior ‘A’ football championship. There are 10 DRP players on the Summerhll panel: Daire Scanlon, Paul O’Brien, Eamonn Keane, Seán Keane, James Donlon (Capt), Joe Campbell Rían O’Callaghan, Donnchadh O’Brien, Michael Carroll and Seán McCarthy.

Our club meeting for January will take place in the Benbulben Room in Oxfield this Wednesday night (Jan 25th) at 9pm.
