Drumcliffe Rosses Point is pleased to confirm the appointment of Stephen Ward as the clubʼs new menʼs senior team manager.
He succeeds Liam Gilmartin, who stepped down from the post after two years in charge.Stephen met the DRP senior players on Saturday and is currently finalising his backroom team.“Iʼm looking forward to the challenge ahead,” said Stephen. “This is a club with lots of potential.”
The Ballyshannon native has had a long association with the Aodh Ruadh Club in Donegal, both as a player and mentor, having managed the clubʼs minor team last year. Stephen still lives in Ballyshannon, and works with Sligo County Council. The DRP Club Chairman Paraic OʼGrady welcomed Stephenʼs appointment. “Weʼre very pleased that Stephen has agreed to come on board. We have a young but dedicated senior squad of players this year. There is a solid base to work with - and Iʼm optimistic that the skillset Stephen brings to this role will make him a very good fit for the club.”
His first game in charge will be Drumcliffe Rosses Pointʼs opening senior league Division 1game on February 22nd.
