We’ll be paying tribute to the contribution of our juvenile hurlers and footballers over the past 12 months with our annual Juvenile Celebration Event which takes place in Rathcormac Hall this Friday evening (Jan 26th) at 7:30pm. We’ll be acknowledging all our teams (girls and boys) from Under 12 up to Minor. This is a free event and all families of our participating players are very welcome to attend.
It’s a busy January for our senior club footballer Cian Lally. He’s been involved with Sligo senior footballers during their recent Connacht FBD league match and, along with club mate Jamie Gillen, featured in the recent defeat to Roscommon in Kiltoom. This coming Wednesday afternoon (Jan 24th), Cian will line out with IT Sligo gaelic footballers in the first round of this year’s Sigerson Cup, IT Sligo travel to Galway to play NUIG in Dangan at 2:30pm.
Good luck to our men’s and women’s club players who are involved with the respective Sligo county teams this weekend in the opening rounds of the national football league. Neil Ewing and the Sligo men’s footballers travel to the Athletic Grounds on Sunday to play Armagh in Division 3, while the Sligo ladies are away to Clare the same afternoon in Division 2 of the Lidl NFL.
Best wishes to club coach Jimmy Smith who will be part of Michael Duffy’s management team for the Sligo county U17 footballers in 2018. The U17 team replaces the minor grade at intercounty level.
Here are the Club Lotto Draw results for December and January:
December Draw: The number drawn were 10, 16, 24 & 26. The was no Jackpot winner (€1050). The match 3 winner (€100) was Stephen Regan.
January Draw: Numbers drawn were 1, 14, 25 & 28. There was no Jackpot (€1100) or Match 3 winner. The four winners of €25 each were: Pat Lyons, Jamie McMorrow, Rowan O’Callaghan, and Tom Horkan.
The Jackpot for February now stands at €1,150.
Our next club meeting takes place on Monday, January 29th, in Oxfield at 9pm.
Another date for your diary: The 2018 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp will take place in Oxfield from July 16-20th this year. Application details will be published in the coming weeks.
The club is holding a First Aid Course in Oxfield on the weekend of February 9 & 10th. Places are limited so interested coaches should contact our coaching officer Declan Carroll on 0879480114.
