Next Club Meeting
The club’s re-arranged monthly meeting takes place this Monday night (Nov 6th) in the Oxfield Centre at 9pm.

Zero2Hero
November 30th promises to be a big date in the club diary. Our senior men’s footballers are organising a “Zero2Hero” event, which will take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Sligo at 7pm. This will be an evening of entertaining GAA discussion and interviews with a variety of leading GAA personalities from around the country. Guests include: Galway and Ireland international rules footballer Shane Walsh, Brian McEniff, Monaghan’s Jack McCarron, Mayo ladies football captain Sarah Tierney and many more. The panel discussion will then be followed by an fundraiser auction, with each member of our senior panel donating two items each for the auction. Admission on the evening is €10 and further information can be found on drp.gaa.ie or on the club’s Facebook page.

Junior Final Defeat
Commiserations to our junior men’s footballers who were beaten by St Molaise Gaels (1-19 to 2-9) in last Monday’s championship final replay at Kent Park. On the day, the team could have few complaints as our opponents were deserving winners over the course of the hour. We battled hard throughout with John Hester, in particular, making an impressive contribution of 1-4. However, Molaise were full value for their seven-point win at the finish. Nonetheless, it’s been a highly encouraging season overall with the team reaching both the championship and league deciders in 2017. Our thanks to the management team of James McTiernan and Paddy Gormley and all the players for their dedication during the season. The DRP junior team last Monday was: Justin Lyons, Shane Creamer, Eunan Cannon, Luke McDermott, Hugh Kisby, David Collins (C), Ruairi McLoughlin, Paddy Gormley, Brian Monaghan, Colin Ginty, David Brady, Eoin Gaughan 0-4, Tom Armstrong 1-0, John Hester 1-4, Joseph Keyes. Subs used: Hugh Cannon 0-1 for Joseph Keyes, Declan Gallagher for Tom Armstrong, Fergal McGrath for Luke McDermott, John O’Hara for John Hester.

Masters Final
Good luck also to our own Ronan Keane and the Sligo masters gaelic footballers who play Mayo in the All-Ireland Masters final the same day in Corran Park, Ballymote.

Sibling Success
Congrats to brother and sister, Rían and Gemma O’Callaghan who both won gold medals at U13 and U11 respectively with North Sligo Athletic Club at last Sunday’s Connacht Cross Country event in Drumlish, County Longford. Well done also to Joe Campbell, Micheal Carroll, Matthew Percy and Rían O’Callaghan who helped Sligo finish third overall in the boys U13  team event.

Two of our club members, brother and sister, Rían and Gemma O Callaghan, both won Connacht cross-country gold for North Sligo AC last weekend.

Congratulations
Congratulations to all our club members who were conferred with third level qualifications during the various graduation ceremonies in IT Sligo and St Angela’s College last week. A special mention too for our nursery coach John Deacy who completed the Dublin City Marathon last week – and in one piece!

Ladies intermediate footballer Tracey O’Boyle was among those graduating from IT Sligo last week.
