Our ladies intermediate footballers began their 2018 season last Sunday with their opening match in the Spring League (warm-up competition). Tourlestrane were the opposition and the south Sligo side won by a single point, on a final scoreline of 2-8 to 3-4.

The club is taking part in the St Patrick’s Day Parade this Saturday in Sligo. Any club members from U8 upwards are invited to don their club colours and join us. We’ll be assembling on the Mail Coach Road at 11:30am. The collection point when we finish is the Pearse Road outside the Mercy Primary School.

After the Parades in both Sligo and Grange, why not join us in Harry’s Bar Rosses Point for the club’s annual St Patrick’s Day Family Hot Pot this Saturday. From 1:30pm onwards, we’ll be serving some delicious hot grub for all the family. You can also watch the rugby (England v Ireland) and the GAA club finals on the TV screens.

Well done to the footballing pupils from Scoil Réalt na Mara Rosses Point and Rathcormac NS who performed with distinction at the Sligo GAAmigos competition last Friday in Summerhill College. The Rosses Point girls team won their section as did the Rathcormac boys team. Well done also to the Rosses Point boys and Rathcormac girls teams who finished second and third respectively.

Our senior footballers are scheduled to open their 2018 season with a Kiernan Cup Group 2 match against Coolera/Strandhill on Saturday March 24th.
