As part of the build-up to Sligo’s All-Ireland minor LGFA football final against Kerry on August 5th, the Sligo team will hold an Open Evening for supporters this Friday, July 28th, at Oxfield from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. You’ll be able to watch the team train and meet the players for photos/autographs. All are welcome.

Our senior men’s footballers lost their Division 2 game to Easkey at Oxfield last Sunday by 2-9 to 1-10. The team now turn their attention to this weekend’s All-Ireland Kilmacud Sevens tournament in Dublin. We’ll be competing in this signature event for the second time this Saturday, which takes place each year on the eve of the All-Ireland football final. We previously competed in 2017.

Big congrats to our under-19 footballers who lifted the Sligo ‘A’ county title at Markievicz Park last Wednesday with an impressive 1-16 to 0-8 success over St Mary’s. It was a fine display by the players. Congrats to them and the management team of James Gilmartin, Fergal Keane and Fergal O’Flaherty.

Our boys minor footballers begin their ‘A’ championship campaign against Eastern Harps on Monday evening next in Oxfield.

The junior men’s footballers drew 4-13 each with St Pat’s in Division 4 last Friday evening at Seamie Donegan Memorial Park.

Good luck to our women’s intermediate footballers play Eastern Harps in their ACL Shield semi-final this Sunday morning, July 30th. Our junior team will begin their championship campaign on August 7th against Eoghan Rua at 10:30am.

Our under-16 girls play Tourlestrane in the championship this Thursday evening in Oxfield at 7pm.

Hard luck to our girls under-14 footballers who lost their re-arranged Division 2 shield final to Eoghan Rua last Saturday in Scarden in challenging weather conditions. It was still a great achievement to reach the county decider.
