Cian Lally and Eoghan Smith were both on the scoresheet for Sligo senior footballers in Sunday’s 2-10 to 1-11 win against Wicklow in Division 3 of the Allianz Football League. The men’s NFL takes a break this weekend – but Sinead Regan, Rianne Smith and Isabella Henry will be on duty with the Sligo LGFA footballers as they resume their Division 3 campaign in Keash this Sunday against Down. Throw-in is at 1pm.

Congrats to club hurler Donnchadh O’Brien who made his senior national league debut for Sligo at Markievicz Park last Saturday when introduced as a second-half substitute in Sligo’s 4-19 to 3-18 win over Cavan in their opening Div 3A game of the new season. The hurlers travel to Crossmaglen this Sunday to play Armagh.

Well done to Gemma O’Callaghan and the Mercy College senior gaelic football team, who reached their first Connacht senior LGFA final since 2003, following their semi-final win over Davitt College, Castlebar, last Monday. The final takes place later this month.
