Hard luck to our county players who were involved with Sligo men’s and women’s footballers in championship games against Dublin and Down respectively last Sunday.

Our senior men’s footballers lost their unbeaten record last Friday night in Division 2 of the league, going down to Eastern Harps in Keash by 2-9 to 1-9.

Our women’s footballers were given a walkover by Owenmore Gaels in the All-County league last Sunday morning. They travel to Hazelwood next Sunday to play Calry/St Joseph’s at 10:30am.

Thunder and Lightning halted the girls U12 (Team 1) final with St Nathy’s at the Sligo LGFA Festival of Football in Scarden last Saturday afternoon. The match will be refixed for a later date. Team 2 produced a gutsy display in their final with St Farnan’s. A very entertaining game saw Farnan’s emerge with a narrow win. Our girls can be proud of the way they performed.

Hard luck to our under-15 hurlers who lost their league final on Sunday evening in Scarden to Cluainínn Iomaint by four points.

The boys U13 footballers begin their championship campaign this Thursday evening against Calry/St Joseph’s in Oxfield at 6:30pm.

Our 2009 boys U15 team begin their championship challenge this Thursday evening with a home game against Owenmore Gaels.

Save the date: DRP will hold a Golf Classic at Co Sligo Golf Club on Friday, August 18th. This will be a nine-hole golf event on the Bomore Course at Rosses Point. More details soon.

The Oxfield Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp runs from July 3rd to July 7th. The camp is already fully booked. The club will be running a ‘Cash For Clubber’ event at Oxfield during this week. It’ll be an ideal opportunity to get rid of unwanted clothing items etc. More details to come on our online platforms.

Well played Liam Timoney, Ethan Hunter and Sam Ferguson who were all part of the Sligo/Leitrim Kennedy Cup soccer team which performed with distinction last week in Limerick. Both Ethan and Liam got on the scoresheet, while Sam was named Sligo-Leitrim’s Player of the Tournament by the coaches.
