Commiserations to the Sligo girls minor footballers who were narrowly beaten by Kerry in the last Saturday’s All-Ireland final in Nenagh. It was a gutsy effort from the team who can be very proud of their championship run this season.

Our girls U18 footballers begin their minor ‘A’ championship campaign this Thursday evening in south Sligo against CT Gaels. Throw-in is at 7pm.

Our junior women’s footballers began their Sligo LGFA junior ‘C’ championship campaign on bank holiday Monday morning (Aug 7th) with a narrow 2-16 to 1-15 loss to Eoghan Rua in a very competitive game at Oxfield. The team’s next game will also be at home, against Tourlestrane, on Saturday evening, Aug 19th (7pm).

Our senior men’s footballers completed their Division 2 campaign last Sunday with a 2-16 to 1-6 win over St Michael’s in Ballintogher. We finish fifth in the league table – and now continue preparations for the start of the Homeland Senior Football Championship. DRP have a bye on the opening weekend (Aug 19th/20th). Our first group game will be against Tubbercurry on the weekend of Aug 26th/27th.

The DRP boys U17 footballers play St Mary’s this Tuesday evening in Kent Park at 7:30pm.

Our U13 hurlers travel to west Sligo to play Easkey in the championship this Friday evening at 6pm.

The timesheet for our upcoming DRP Golf Classic at Co Sligo Golf Cllub on Friday, Aug 18th is almost full. A few slots remain on our early morning tee-time of 08:30am. After a short summer break, Saturday morning All-Stars football and hurling coaching resumes this Saturday, Aug 12th, at Rathcormac NS at the usual times. Hurling coaching at 9:30am. Football coaching for players born 2016 to early 2019 from 9:45am to 10:30am. Players born 2013 to 2015: 10:45am to 11:45am. New players are always very welcome to come along and give it a try.
