We’re all set for this Friday’s DRP Golf Classic on the Bomore Course at Co Sligo Golf Club in Rosses Point.
The timesheet is all but full. You’ll find the link to it on drp.gaa.ie and on our social media pages if you want to squeeze in. It’s €25 to play for adults, and €15 for juniors. The top prize in the draw for everybody who plays is two nights B&B plus one dinner at the Raddison Blu in Athlone. Our thanks to Bernie Chambers at Radisson for her generous support with this.

Please join us on Friday night at 9:30pm in the Clubhouse at Co Sligo Golf Club for the Golf Classic Presentation of Prizes and Social afterwards. It’s promises to be a very enjoyable evening. A special word of thanks to all the local businesses who have sponsored a prize or golf hole/tee box for Friday’s big event. 

Our adult women’s gaelic football first team will be competing in both the senior and intermediate Connacht Gold championships in Sligo over the coming weeks. The senior championship begins this weekend. DRP are in a three-team group which includes holders St Nathy’s and Geevagh. Two clubs will qualify from the group for the county semi-finals. DRP have a bye on this opening weekend. The women’s intermediate championship begins on Sunday, Sept 3rd.

Our junior women’s team began their championship campaign last Sunday week with a narrow loss to Eoghan Rua at Oxfield. Their second group game is this Saturday evening, again in Oxfield, against Tourlestrane, at 7pm.

The senior men’s Homeland Championship begins this weekend. DRP are in a five-team Group 2 with Tourlestrane, Shamrock Gaels, Coolera/Strandhill and Tubbercurry. Two teams from the group will qualify for the semi-finals. We have a bye on this opening weekend. Our first group game will be against Tubbercurry on Sat, Aug 26th. 

Our girls minor footballers began their minor championship campaign last Thursday with a 1-13 to 0-11 loss to CT Gaels. We play Eoghan Rua this Thursday evening in Oxfield in match 2. 

The U15 hurlers are also in championship action this Thursday. They host Coolera/Strandhill at Oxfield. 

Saturday morning All-Stars football coaching is up and running again at Rathcormac NS. Session times are;
Players born in 2016 to early 2019: 9:45am to 10:30am
Players born 2013 to 2015: 10:45am to 11:45am. 
New players are always very welcome to join us at any stage.

This Thursday’s Club Lotto Jackpot now stands at €3000.

Condolences to the Rooney family in Coolbeg, following the passing of former club stalwart Paddy Rooney last week. Paddy had a great involvement with the club during the 1980s and 1990s and was always a thorough gentleman.
