Pride of place this week goes to the DRP girls U16 footballers (pictured)who lifted the Division 3 league title in Ballisodare last Thursday evening with an impressive win over Geevagh/St Michael’s. Our congrats to this team who’ve now won two league titles in successive seasons. Great work being done by all involved.

The DRP girls U16 football team – Div 3 league winners 2023

Our senior men’s footballers moved joint top of Division 2 of the league with a 1-7 to 0-7 win over St Pat’s in Oxfield last Friday evening. We play Geevagh on Sunday next in Oxfield at 2pm.

The junior men’s footballers play Tubbercurry in Division 4 this Friday evening in Oxfield at 7:30pm.

We wish club players Kevin Dufficy and Matthew Percy speedy recoveries from their respective playing injuries suffered in recent weeks.

Hard luck to Cian Lally, Eoghan Smith and the Sligo senior footballers against Roscommon last Sunday. Next up is the Dubs on Saturday week, June 17th.

The boys under-13 football teams participated in the Clifford Cup last Saturday at Kent Park, hosted by St Mary’s GAA Club. It was a very enjoyable day of football for our players to test our skills against clubs from across Connacht and Ulster. Our thanks to the hosts for a well-run tournament.

Best wishes to the Rathcormac NS girls footballers who take part in the Sligo Cumann na mBunscol large schools final this Saturday in Markievicz Park at 2:40pm. The team would appreciate big local support for what is their second consecutive final appearance. Good luck to the Rathcormac boys team who have also qualified for their shield final.

The Drumcliffe Community Games girls U12 team play their first match this Wednesday evening in Oxfield at 6:30pm. Good luck girls.

Our women’s intermediate footballers travel to Seamie Donegan Memorial Park this Sunday morning to play St Pat’s in the adult Spring League Group 2 at 10:30am.

Our junior women’s footballers were unlucky to lose out by a point to Eastern Harps in their recent Connacht Gold Division 4 shield semi-final.

Our club meeting for June takes place this Wednesday, June 9th, in Oxfield at 9pm. All club members are welcome to attend this meeting.

We’re hosting a girls U8/U10 blitz this Saturday morning, June 10th, in Oxfield. The girls contact coaches will be communicating precise details to parents and guardians this week. For all other Saturday morning All-Stars players (boys and girls), football and hurling coaching continues at Rathcormac NS at the usual times.
